Acro is an athletic style of dance combining various dance styles and techniques with acrobatics. While learning skills of balance and co ordination, the students develop great upper and lower body strength. The acrobatic elements and aerial stunts common in routines require the students to support themselves as well as their fellow students. This team work builds great self confidence in the students both mentally and physically. It is recommended that all Acro students take up a Ballet, Modern or Contemporary class to compliment the Acro syllabus.

* Enrico Cecchetti was an Italian ballet dancer, mime artist and founder of The Cecchetti Method of Classical Ballet. Famous for creating the roles of Carabosse and Bluebird in Marius Petipa's ballet Sleeping Beauty, his ground breaking work transformed and greatly enhanced the role of the male dancer in classical ballet.
This technique passed down to Cecchetti, he then passed on as a renowned teacher, training dancers such as Anna Pavolva and Dame Ninette de Valois, the founder of The Royal Ballet. The Cecchetti Method of training produces a dancer with great strength, stamina, speed and a beautiful, elegant line.

Broadway Jazz or Theatrical Jazz are derived from African American styles of dancing that emerged with Jazz music including Lyrical, Blues, Jazz & Funk and Free Form. All work is technique based so it is recommended that pupils study Ballet along with Modern Jazz in order to gain the strength and stamina needed to enter the examinations (Modern Grade 2 and above). Modern Jazz develops strength, flexibility and artistry in the dancer. This class focuses on strong physical expression within the discipline of the technique.
An essential skill for the professional dancer, tap dance is one of the most enjoyable and instantly satisfying forms of dance. Tap is great for enhancing co-ordination, a sense of rhythm, and for strengthening and loosening foot, ankle and leg muscles. Tap is a popular choice with all age groups and we have classes for students from the age of 4 through to Adult Classes for either beginners or the more experienced.
Younger students delight in their ability to dance whilst simultaneously making rhythmical sounds with their feet . Advanced students feel a great accomplishment from learning to perform technically complex steps and rhythms whilst creating the light and shade of sound through their technique.
